 0 What is KLOG ???
 ------------------

 KLog is a Win32 implementation of *nix syslog daemon to support remote
 logging of messages from unix servers, routers, terminal servers and
 other syslog-enabled devices/applications.

 !!! KLOG is freeware !!!

 You can use it for logging of RMS messages.

 1 Quick installation
 --------------------

 - Just double-click on KLOG.EXE. The installation routine will ask you for
   installation path.
   Press "OK" button for default "C:\Program FilesS\Klever\Nothings" or
   use the browse button to select another directory.

 Please note, that this software uses MFC4.2 which might be not installed
 on your system, yet. In this case 

 - double-click on the file MFC42.EXE.


 that's it !!!



 2 Before you can use KLOG
 -------------------------

 - make sure that your windows PC is configured for TCP/IP

 - make sure that you can reach your RMS via Ethernet
   just type

   C:\>ping 192.168.18.103  (the IP address of your RMS)

   You should get the following answer:

   Pinging rms [192.168.18.103] with 32 bytes of data:

   Reply from 192.168.18.103: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=255
   Reply from 192.168.18.103: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=255
   Reply from 192.168.18.103: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=255
   Reply from 192.168.18.103: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=255

 - configure your RMS for sending messages to your windows client

   In the menu "Network Configuration/Log Service" add the IP address
   of your windows client to the list of log destinations.

 - make sure the switch "Message Log" is switched to "yes".

 - make sure that the filters you wan't to log have a
   "Message Priority" <> "none" in the menu "Filter Configuration".


 3 Use of KLOG
 -------------

 - Start KLOG by double-clicking on klog.exe in the explorer.

 - the KLOG window will appear on the screen.

   In the bottom of the window the messages of the RMS will be displayed.

   KLOG provides a lot of configuration possibilities.

   KLOG can

    - log the messages into a file
    - generate sounds for incoming messages
    - forward messages with filter options

   Please use the online help of KLOG for further information.
